News concerning the PET Drinking glass series

In the spring of 2011 Bordex successfully introduced a complete series of PET drinking glasses, including various types of lids. At our production site in Krokowa in Poland we develop innovative products and materials that have a minimum impact on the environment during both production and use. This is also the reason why we will shortly be manufacturing the current series of drinking glasses partially from rPET (recycled PET). 

rPET – 100% safe and ‘food approved’
The use of rPET not only means considerable energy savings, it also reduces the use of ‘virgin’ raw materials. To guarantee the current clarity as much as possible, the glasses will be manufactured from a maximum of 30% post-consumer PET. In the meantime extensive tests have shown that this switch has no effect on the performance and the physical and visual properties of the products. rPET is a 100% safe and ‘food approved’ alternative.

We have implemented some manufacturing changes in addition to the switch to rPET. The glasses are produced as efficiently as possible in Poland, using the latest and fastest Gabler machines. TP punnets: packaging opportunities for the soft fruit sector

The TP sealpunnets from Bordex has an effective design and it is very versatile. This new series enables Bordex to respond to the benefits and the increased demand for the top-sealing of punnets – the trend in the AGF sector, instead of the traditional lids. The savings in lids alone gives a reduction in costs. Other packaging costs such as labour are also considerably reduced, and in addition waste is minimised. 

Versatility
The sealed packaging for strawberries, raspberries or other types of soft fruit can also be provided with a label. This gives them the perfect appearance and makes for excellent presentation on the shelves. The soft fruit punnets are relatively lightweight, manufactured from APET (supplemented with rPET), crystal clear and unbreakable. The new series is available in two different sizes. The dimensions correspond to the current standard sizes in the market and are therefore a good choice with respect to logistics. With the top-seal options they are the perfect packaging solution for the soft fruit sector.

Optimal atmosphere
Because fresh vegetables and fruit require oxygen, the base is provided with ventilation holes as usual. As a ‘one-stop packaging provider’ Bordex Packaging can also offer various film solutions. For example one interesting option is the combination with perforated Mylar top film, creating the optimum atmosphere in the packaging and thus guaranteeing a long shelf life. Our manufacturing facility in Italy produces both standard sizes and custom-made AGF packaging for all types of vegetables and fruit. Bordex introduces a complete range of PET drinking glasses

Soft drink, fruit juice, water or a nice cool beer - whichever drink you serve looks refreshing when served in the new PET drinking glasses. Bordex has introduced a new and complete series of clear PET glasses to meet the increasing demand for drinking glasses with a lid. By expanding its range of PET glasses Bordex has chosen to become a key provider in this growing market.
 
The market for PET glasses
The market for plastic glasses is growing due to their easy use and safety at events etc. Marketing Manager Wim Hassink anticipates that the use of PET glasses will rise by 4% a year over the next three years. Bordex Packaging differentiates itself by the quality and clarity of the final product. The company also sees the logistics benefits as an important plus. Manufacturing facilities in Poland enable Bordex to respond quickly and flexibly to demand.
 
'Fruits 'n Veggies' and drinking glasses
The versatile series of PET glasses is produced exclusively for Bordex and is recognisable by the Bordex 'B' on the bottom. The series is produced in Poland on the newest Gabler M-line machines. As well as being highly efficient, these high-tech machines guarantee an excellent final product of consistent quality. Bordex has been active in the plastic glasses market since 2009. Until now the focus has been on the vegetable and fruit market. The ‘Fruits ‘n Veggies' series is the perfect solution for mini-vegetables etc. These ‘snack vegetables' are a huge success because they fit perfectly in a healthy diet.
 
Versatile
Bordex Packaging's PET glasses make the perfect presentation without the product losing its characteristics. The new PET drinking glass series is available in five different sizes, ranging from 250 to 500 cc. There is also a wide variety of lids in stock: domed, flat and with or without a rounded opening. The glasses are of excellent quality, clear and extremely impact resistant. They are fully recyclable, so from an ecological perspective these PET glasses make a sound choice.
